BIOGRAPHY
The Black Out Band is a musical trio ahead of their time. Hunter, Tug, and Matthew are three talented eleven-year-olds with similar musical passions who are more musically progressive than many artists twice their age! While their exciting and catchy musical style reflects that of an older age, the lyrical content is certainly written from the amusing view of a pre-teen. Their infectious first single, "Video Games", is about one of the band's favorite hobbies, besides music of course! The concept of the song was born when the band's music coach always found the three playing video games when not practicing music. After the song was successfully written and recorded, the band decided to participate in an assembly at their school. They were an absolute hit! The students, parents, and even the teachers who attended were up and dancing to the addictive "Video Games". After the performance, the Black Out Band was asked numerous times to perform by various venues, though academics and sports got in the way of accepting every offer. If anything, it shows how the boys still have fun like normal kids their age, even if they are very musically talented
Hunter has been playing guitar for four years, with an enigmatic vocal presence that is slightly reminiscent of Neil Young. Tug and Matthew are both excellent in the rhythm section, as the bass thumps and percussion stomps often set the tone for the song. The band plays their own material, as well as having fun with some covers. They have covered several legends, such as The Beatles, Billy Joel, and Led Zeppelin, which has expanded their musical intellect into several styles. They are currently in the studio writing and recording new and original songs, much in the signature mold of "Video Games". Next time, the band plans to tell a tale about the beloved time of recess. "Video Games" gets easily stuck in your head upon first listen, with the anthem-like chorus and complementary mixture of keys, guitar, and rhythm. Regardless of your age, there is no doubt that the Black Out Band is extremely fun to listen to.
